What is Tough Mudder

Tough Mudder was created in 2009 and the first run
was organized in the beginning of 2010 in the USA.
There are over 3 million competitors in the Tough Mudder.
We hire nearly 200 people on practically all of the continents.
Tough Mudder was created by Will Dean, former British antiterrorist, and Guy Livingstone, former corporation lawyer.
Today, the organization is managed by a group of international managers. Tough Mudder is a series of endurance competitions, in which people beat an obstacle course lasting from 5 to 10 miles, which tests the physical and mental strength.
The obstacles are often related to typical human fears, such as, water, electricity, height and fire. In Tough Mudder, the main emphasis is put on teamwork. The obstacles in a Tough Mudder events are constructed in a way that encourages people to work as a team. The competitors have to get involved in helping others in order to get to the finish line. Approximately 78% of the contestants finish the course.

Tough Mudder Team

Our course designers and engineers are the most creative, forward-thinking, and maybe even slightly insane team of innovators on the planet. Whether they’re trekking the globe for inspiration, or testing new ideas in the lab, they’re constantly working to make sure our obstacles completely blow your mind. Check out just a few of the ass-kicking, mind-bending creations you’ll see on the course in 2018.

Pyramid Scheme 2.0

Unlike its namesake, this obstacle is all about teamwork. Scramble, climb, and push your way up a slippery incline with the help of your fellow Mudders.

The Block Ness Monster

The Block Ness Monster is as epic and tricky as Nessie herself. Mudders have to help one another push, pull, and roll their way through 60ft of slick, rotating barriers.

Everest 2.0

This slick quarter pipe is over 15’ tall, with a recurved top to make it extra hard to get that handhold. You can aim for the top, but there’s no promise you won’t end up at the bottom.

Arctic Enema 2.0

Our favorite icy plunge has been updated to include a high speed entry slide and center wall you must scale to escape the 10 tons of ice we jam into this frigid dumpster dive.

“I run for the feeling of pride knowing that you helped someone overcome a difficult challenge. I run for the teamwork and camaraderie that only Mudders understand and share throughout these events. Tough Mudder is a life changing experience that I hope to continue sharing with new people every day.”
